Modern Bedroom

The silk upholstered wall replaces the need for a traditional headboard in the bed area of this warm and inviting master suite.

Perched above a lake, this bedroom evokes a treetop pavilion. The peaceful space is enhanced by custom-designed window casings and natural materials (unbleached linen and textured limestone). Photograph by Beth Singer.

At night, this bedroom is illuminated from beneath a hidden wall cove behind the bed. Orange and rich browns spice up the bedroom design.

Bold geometric patterns combine with a lot of black to create a strong feeling in this previously nondescript guest room. The custom window shutters resembling a tight lattice admit soft light during the day and provide enough privacy at night. Photo by Daniel Furon.

The master bedroom suite has a custom built-in bed with pearwood bookcases on each side and a fabric headboard. Custom pearwood cabinets across the bed hide closets and a flat screen TV. Modern detailing and reupholstered antique lounge chairs complete the soothing getaway.

The custom-made English bedspread is the perfect complement to the carved four-poster bed in this traditional space. A warm Oriental carpet, large overstuffed chair and original artwork add the finishing touches.
